The Vision
The vision of I See Music was birthed out of a non-visual observation. Those who don’t see, still see music. Therein lies an innate desire to create and record music without depending on their sighted counterparts. Thus, I See Music was born.
There is technology in existence to give creative power to visually-impaired persons involved in music production. With the creation and growth of I See Music, this technology can be taught and utilized at a highly professional level.
I See Music will also serve as a resource tool for those who are in need of music-related services in regards to their visual impairment. Ultimately, this organization will serve the needs of musicians, songwriters, composers, producers, and engineers of the visually-impaired community.
History
I See Music was founded in 2011, and based in Beecher, IL, a suburb of Chicago. The company is functioning under the direction of Byron M. Harden, founder, owner and director of I See Music, LLC. Mr. Harden is also the owner of On The Moon Recording Studio, located in Beecher, IL.
Mr. Harden recognized that there was no program available that could adequately educate sightless [audio] engineering professionals.
As a producer and engineer, Mr. Harden has always struggled with vision issues. As his clientele from different genres expanded, the awareness of his talent as a visually impaired musician also grew.
Mr. Harden recognized that there was no program available that could adequately educate sightless [audio] engineering professionals.
Even without an existing program or organization in place, Byron Harden decided to employ the services of a fully sighted person to assist him in memorizing the buttons on his rolling hard disk recorder, 2480. In addition to that, he developed techniques for recording live instrumentation with regards to instruments, vocals, and environments.
Although it hadn’t been thought of yet, I See Music was taking shape.
